Course Overview
  • Learning to read and write Chinese will give you a lifetime of intellectual stimulation.

  • At HKMLC we introduce you to Chinese character writing and reading in a systematic and comprehensive way.

  • Traditional Chinese is used in regions like Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan, while Simplified Chinese is used in Mainland China, Singapore and other areas.

Elementary Course
  • This course helps students to acquire a fundamental knowledge of how Chinese characters work.

  • At the conclusion of this course, students will be familiar with at least 400 of the most frequently used characters in newspapers

  • Students will also be able to recognise approximately 50% of the characters used in books.

  • Intermediate Course

  • This course enables students to recognize at least 900 of the most frequently used Chinese characters and 70% of the characters encountered in everyday reading as well.
